Alright my schedule is back to normal after a first week of j-term that seemed surreal. Yes I didn't have class monday but I have had to wake up at 8 the past two days and will have to the next two days. College would be so awesome if it werent for class. Things could be worse though. Class is supposed to go 3 hours and the longest class has gone so far has been and hour and a half, knock on wood.
One of the other cool parts of this class, besides that it is only an hour and a half, that it only goes 3 days a week, and that I have it with 2 of my other bros Max and Scotty, is that one of the requirements is for us to work 3 hours a week at the local homeless shelter called the crossing. So Max, Scotty, and myself drove over with the rest of my class on tuesday. We got a little confused over where exactly the shelter was. We sat infront of a building for about 10 minutes before realizing that we were infront of a closed down coffee shop and the shelter was the next building down. Not exactly our brightest moment. I can say that I was the one to realize we were in front of the wrong building. One of the kids that rode with us even walked into taco bell across the street only to realize it wasn't open yet. Cut us some slack, it was still early!
Anyway once we got into the shelter we just sat in the lobby and waited for our professor to limp into the room. The man in charge of the shelter was very nice and very excited for us to be there. The shelter is completly religously motivated. There were two prayer rooms for the homeless. Once somebody shows up they are taken directly into one of the rooms and prayed for. I look forward to being able to help out and getting to know some of these people.
Today was also our first day of practice. It went well, most of it was testing. In our timing for 90 ft., aka time from home plate to first base, I got an unimpressive 4.01 both times. Scotty got a 4.00 both times, that terd. After practice we had a team meeting, behave and try your hardest and all that fun stuff that I have only heard 200 times in my life. With 5 minutes left in the meeting coach said we have another fundraiser. I HATE HATE HATE fundraisers.ugh.
After practice we all went to dinner then came back and just hung out. Max and I are big American Idol fans so we watched that. We didnt know it was goin to be on again tonight so that was our excitement of the night.
I came back and went up to max's room for a bit. He started talking to Megan, his soon to be girlfriend, snor, so I came back to my room and got me to here, writting on my blog, watching sportscenter, at 12:30 at night, I need a life.haha.
nathan...out

haha thought I would throw in a picture of the bros. Spenc, Max, Luis, Scotty, and the stud on the right is yours truely. This is a sunday at Scotty's, you can't tell but it was snowing, we were excited. By we I mean I was excited, but its cool.

I am enjoying reading your writing. I hope you enjoy your experience at the shelter. Do you remember volunteering at a Longview shelter as part of our boys to men activities? Anyways, keep up the writing....
